• What Happens During A Checkup?

  • womanquestionredWe suggest that you visit us for dental checkups once every six months to assist you in maintaining exceptional oral health. However, we find that patients often become lax in their scheduling habits. One of the common problems we find among patients is that they do not quite know what to expect during a checkup. Whether you are someone who feels a bit nervous and would like to know what is going to happen ahead of time or if you are simply curious about what is going on while you’re reclining in the chair, we are happy you are interested in learning more about your dental care. What Happens During A Dental Checkup

    We Look At Your Mouth

First, we take a visual look at what is happening within your oral cavity. We will look for signs of change, bumps, discoloration, and will also look for signs of tooth decay or inflamed gums that point to gum disease.

    We Will Speak With You

Your dental checkup is a wonderful time for you to voice questions or concerns. We will be more than happy to speak with you about your smile goals or a problem you have experienced. Part of your checkup will include a series of questions that we will ask you about your oral health. This gives us the ability to diagnose problems you are suffering from but cannot identify on your own, such as TMJ disorder, bruxism, or sleep apnea.

    We Will Use Advanced Technology

We will take a very close look at your mouth’s inner workings with the use of advanced imaging, such as digital X-rays. This will allow us to gain a clearer understanding of what is happening at a deeper level, so we catch changes or concerns we cannot see with our eyes alone.

We Will Screen For Oral Cancer

We incorporate oral cancer screenings into dental checkups because they provide exceptional early detection. This will allow us to provide you with immediate treatment for an increased success rate.
